My first thought was the people that chose to jump in lieu of burning in the fire. I wondered if they ever found all those bodies. May they rest in eternal peace. Their last thought being one of horror.

I was an active duty USAF Security Forces Flight Chief (supervisor,) on 9/11. It had been my day off, but when my wife told me a second plane had struck the second tower, I was up and headed to the base for a very long day, though not as long as those who were in NYC, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

I lost two cousins, NYPD, FDNY, to leukemia and lung cancer. A third, NYPD, had to retire early from severe PTSD. He turned to pain killers and benzos, finally got clean after four years, but has never recovered mentally. He’s living with his now adult daughter’s family. His ex couldn’t cope, either and they split up in 2007. Now, he has Alzheimers as well.

I will never forget my birth place. thank u.for the memory i was born in Newyork at the bronx lebranon hospital .1963.grow up in Newyork.went there with my parents.when the world trade center was being built up into the heavens.

The Twin Towers weren’t the only buildings affected by the Terror Attacks. It’s 2024 and I am just now realising that. You never hear about the other buildings or survivors.

How long/hours or weeks month days but how long did or how many hours did it take to legit & literally take to clean up this much & all of the debris & dust and the mess cleaning all up & the World Trade Center twin 2 towers pieces and a bunch of stuff. How long did it take to clean up all of that debris & mess and the dust all and the mess of the twin towers all in NYC? How long? And, how many hours tho? Lemme know ASAP Ya’ll! I’m kinda curious to know. Again, I know google has the answer to all of the 9/11 questions & stuff. But, imo but, how long & hours did it take to clean up this mess? Lemme know!

I was in New York that week with my friends from Ireland, at 2.49 on the video I spotted an Irish Flag. Looking at these photos all these years on I just can't imagine what it was like for all those men to work for months through all the fallen buildings. Rip to all that perished on the day and those heros that died from cancer since that awful time.

It's unimaginable to think that there were so many people going about their daily business when the planes struck the towers. People who kissed their loved ones, left for work and said "see you later for dinner!" Then at dinner time an empty seat... People on the stairwell on the second floor - only one more flight of steps - then the building collapsed. The light at the end of the tunnel extinguished forever. The passengers on the planes knowing they were going to die as the planes flew low over the Hudson and the buildings fast approaching. The people in the offices watching the planes flying straight towards them - nowhere to go, no time to phone a loved one! I've watched a few videos lately (don't know why) and I have felt a deep penetrating sadness for all who lost loved ones, colleagues, friends etc. To think 19 men sat down and planned that day - what wickedness!

I promise I will never forget. Never.

What happen to that dog after going threw the wreckage, i know by now the animal would have passed, how much longer did the dog live, if people got cancer what if any of the dogs got cancer as well

Als bei uns in Deutschland die fernsehsendungen unterbrochen worden sind und die ersten bilder liefen, war ich am arbeiten bei einer kundin im garten, sie sas im rollstuhl und rief mich, ich solle kommen, dann hielt sie mich am arm und ihr liefen die tränen. Nach 5 minuten sagte sie, ich solle nach hause fahren, der garten ist nicht wichtig. Ich fuhr nach hause 5 min. Als ich ankam liefen gerade wie in dauerschleife die bilder des 2. Einschlags. Wenn ich an diesen tag zurückdenke, laufen.mir immer noch schauer über den rücken, wie bei lady diana auch. Es istvgeschichte mitlerweile aber vergessen soll man dies niemals. Allen Angehörigen ich denke immer wieder an diesen tag und hoffe sie werden immer an ihre Angehörigen denken und für sie beten. Rip heisst es bei ihnen. Bei uns ich verneige mich in Trauer.

Hate to say it, but seeing so many rescue workers without masks/breathing apparatus bothers me given that so many got sick and died years afterwards from working there.

Those poor workers and the rescue animals what they to had to endure....where do you even? How do you even? The victims, the families. A tradjedy no scale can measure, heartbreaking. To this day I pray and send love and blessings to all of those angels.

Many photos and videos have been released for public viewing, but think about how many could still be out there showing the events of that terrible day.

So many people with PTSD from seeing horrible things that day. We humans think we are strong, and we are, but we are also not 'built' to see others in pain, dying, and suffering. It hurts us, and we forget that sometimes.

heartbreaking

Niemal werde ich dieses schrecklichen Tag vergessen. Mein Herz Blutet wenn ich mir nach all den jahren diese Bilder anschaue. Ich war 16 Jahre Jung und saß vorm Fernseher und habe geweint. Heute bin ich 38 und weine noch immer.

It was very hard to watch, but even harder to live it. I was in the south tower only 6 floors below where it hit. We saw and heard the first plane but we thought that was it, not to long later the second plane hit. My best friend/coworker was burnt to death. I barely made it out of the top but I couldn't get out of the building in time. The whole south tower collapsed on me. I was stuck for about 9 hours and I was unconscious when the firefighters found me. I was pretty sleepy but I am pretty sure it was night. Could've been smoke also. When the north tower came down, somehow another piece landed about where I was. (I was on the 3rd floor when it collapsed on the side facing the north tower). I had to stay in the hospital for about 4 months. My wife was worried so she came to the site right before the first tower fell and she tried coming in the building but she was crushed to death. I saw a few photos of her remains and she looked like a tomato.
